The Gymform Vertical Gym is an apparatus reproducing the movement of climbing intended for use at home.
Adapted to both women and men, it requires the whole body in an alternating motion using your own body weight as resistance.
If the rower is undoubtedly the best “horizontal” device for training the whole body, the Gymform Vertical Gym is undoubtedly its “vertical” counterpart.
Reproducing the movement of climbing, known to request the whole muscles but also the cardio system, this device is ideal for toning and sculpting your body while burning calories.
Combining strength training and cardio training, Vertical Gym's Fast Track Climbing technology uses the resistance of your own body to simultaneously target your upper limbs, lower limbs and core, all in a movement that allows you to burn fat.
The Vertical Gym is ideal for working the glutes, thighs, legs and abs.
Short and quick steps for a quick cardio-training, long steps to tone the muscles.

Use / Comfort
The Vertical Gym is a rather well designed device. Easy to assemble, it is very easy to use and offers adequate stability.
The vertical position is very interesting, since it allows those who, like me, are prone to recurrent back pain , to avoid coming and going on the ground, but also to bend or bend your back when you start to tire.
However, the device is not suitable for all sizes. The big ones, for example, will be limited in their movements.
The other advantage is that there is no impact like there is with running. However, it is possible that when you step on it the first few times, the joints are painful (knees, shoulders).
We recommend starting with 2-3 minute sessions several times over a few days by performing the movement very slowly at the beginning to (re) learn to use the muscles that take the strain off the joints. At the end of a week the movement should already be more fluid.
Only small problem, the device is a little noisy (noise of the rack) in use but we end up there get used to it.
Efficiency
When you use the Vertical Gym, abs, biceps, quadri, adductors, glutes, calves, everything is called upon. After 10 minutes, we are already sweating and in the effort, it's bluffing. For more effects, you can also pair it with a good sweat belt, it is a must.
After a few uses, legs and arms gradually start to feel the positive effects and aches / contractures may appear or will be felt the following days especially on the front of the thighs, but, after a few days of practice, they disappear.
The DVD that accompanies the product is well made , although it is regrettable that there is only one program offered.
Quality
This is where the problem lies. The Vertical Gym is efficient but of average quality. The sliding is poor and even deteriorates rapidly. The chain also seems a little weak to support the 100kg, maximum authorized weight and the pedals creak after less than a week of use.
It is also a pity that the finish of this product is sloppy (screws too short so no maintenance of the upper elements to muscle the arm).
So unless you have a handyman who can solidify it and remedy the problem of the part of the elements to strengthen the arms which kept falling at each attempt, after not even three movements, the Vertical Gym could create more frustrations than anything else.
Storage
From the point of given the size, the Vertical Gym is a device that responds rather well to its constraints of use. Foldable, it does not take up space and is therefore easily stored. Small flat on the flexible bar which would have deserved to have a hooking system when folding (small plastic ring style).
