Description
The Circle Glide is a cross trainer, understand a device that allows you to exercise both the body in its entirety, but also the cardio. 2 in 1 device, it thus offers the possibility of working the lower body (standing on it) or the upper body (floor exercises).
According to the manufacturer, it is a pleasant, easy way, fun, fast and effective to get sexy legs, butt and abs, which virtually anyone can do.
System
So Circle Glide is meant to be a way fun and fast to burn calories and get a full body workout. Thanks to its unique triple plan technology, it allows for smooth, free movement that engages and activates all the major muscles in your body to provide you with a complete cardio workout that will burn you calories and help you shed those unwanted pounds. . This Triple plane technology allows movements in 3 directions: forward / backward, left / right and rotation and therefore a multitude of possible combinations.
Thus the device trains your body in all planes which makes it possible to work all the muscles lower body core - precisely targets your butt and thighs to gradually firm them up - not forgetting the core muscles and upper body intensely while increasing your heart rate to give you a workout cardio. The device is made from professional grade steel and can withstand a load of up to 110 kg.
Operation
The system is simple since it is acts of supports which slide along a rail which itself pivots on a central axis. The supports, which can either serve as a footrest or act as a hand pad during floor exercises, are made with a non-slip coating for comfort and safety during exercise. A removable handle system allows you to stabilize yourself once on the Circle Glide. If you choose to do the floor exercises (to strain your upper body) you will need to remove them. The Circle Glide has special interchangeable resistance bands built-in to vary the difficulty for different exercises. In addition to allowing smooth movement, the Circle Glide is quiet and can therefore be used at all times. For example, it will allow you to do other activities while you exercise (such as watching TV or listening to music). From a footprint perspective, the Circle Glide takes up little space and its removable handles make it easy to store, under a bed or in a closet. The Circle Glide is supplied with a training DVD (the Pro 10 Day Jump Start program), handles and base, a user guide, a power plan and everything is guaranteed for 2 years.
The Circle Glide is very easy to use. Just put your feet on the footrests and slide or rotate in the direction you want. However, you may have difficulty finding your balance at first. To work your upper body, all you have to do is remove the removable handles and place your hands on the supports. So you will perform a multitude of exercises that will challenge the muscles of the upper limbs. The accompanying DVD provided and the guide are really useful, they allow consistency and a good transition in the exercises (it is very easy to switch from one exercise to another without stopping).
When we got this article we first read the many comments which were generally positive, however, as you can imagine, we couldn't stop there.
The first observation when you see it is that this machine is well made, compact and discreet and therefore perfectly suited for home training.
n Assembly / Storage
The Circle Glide is very easy to assemble since the product is delivered already pre-assembled in its box. It took us a little more than 10 minutes to assemble everything without hurrying too much.
The instructions are clear and easy to understand, no problem getting listed there. The Circle Glide Cross Trainer is light and compact, so it can be moved and stored easily. The easy to install and remove removable handle is perfect for storage. You can hide it under a bed or in a closet when you are done using it.
n Use
Easy to use, this product does not rely on speed or strength, but rather focuses on posture and balance (to keep an abdominal strap solid), and so technique and frequency are key. The Circle Glide produces a fun workout where you change from direction to direction, almost like on an ice rink. We really enjoyed using it. And don't be surprised if you have trouble finding your balance at first, it takes some getting used to and the racks tend to be a bit slippery. It will take a few sessions until you find the best way to use it and thus achieve the best effect.
So be warned, your first few sessions may be “wobbly”, but don't give up, very quickly you will close these gaps and your balance will improve. In addition, the effort you make to stabilize yourself also works your balance and strengthens your abdominal strap, killing two birds with one stone.
To reduce this instability, be sure to place the device on a perfectly flat surface, it will work even better. We started by doing sets of 100, which made it possible to assimilate the movement well and to work enough to feel the effects without getting bored. And even with that small number of reps, you should feel your glutes, obliques (love handle area) and adductors (groin area) after a few workouts. Once you get the hang of it, it’s really fun and you can easily use it while going about other things.
The device has an adjustable resistance. To change it, just add or remove rubber bands to vary the difficulty. From a practical point of view, the device is therefore rather well thought out, but the central rod would have benefited from being off-center, because positioned in the middle, it can be awkward. But if you want to make it even harder, and since they are removable, you can remove the handles, which puts more strain on your balance and allows for a different job. We nevertheless recommend putting on the handles, at least at the beginning. As for the exercises on the floor (in the push-up position), they are also interesting even if the range of movement is rather limited.
n DVD
The supplied DVD is clear, precise and easy to follow, but some of these movements are difficult to perform due to the deliberately precarious balance of the machine.
However, if you follow exactly what the DVD shows and at the same pace, the session will not be aerobic (it will not use your cardio). The DVD is above all a guide to help you perform the exercises correctly, so you will need to increase the intensity for the effects to be significant. The DVD included with the device is therefore perfect for beginners, it walks you slowly through each movement before showing you a whole training routine, without allowing optimal use of the device. We therefore recommend the DVD for the first few workouts until you are familiar with how the Circle Glide works, then gradually increase the intensity and get creative by mixing up the exercises a bit.
n Effectiveness
Like any fitness device, for results to be effective you will need to use it regularly. We therefore used this device for 3 months at the rate of 4 sessions per week. By focusing on posture and balance, this device works the gluteal muscles (glutes), obliques (lateral part of the trunk) and adductors (groin region), while engaging your cardio and even if you do not feel the efforts immediately, you will feel the work the next day, especially in the buttocks and thighs. After about 3 months of use, you will be able to see real improvements in tone and definition in the legs, arms and abs. So, if you buy the Circle Glide after putting on a little weight and feel that you need to tone up, especially in the buttocks and inner thighs, this device can be of interest.
This machine allows you to add a lateral displacement that does not exist with the movement of walking, targeting muscles that are often neglected. But beware, do not plan to sculpt and achieve a dream body with this device alone. In addition to a healthy diet, the correct use of Circle Glide, i.e. with an increase in your heart rate, is necessary and as we said above the sessions offered on the DVD are not intense enough to allow that. As for fat loss, its effectiveness is therefore limited. Indeed, even if this device requires cardio and offers a good workout, it suffers from the comparison compared to other cross trainers such as the elliptical trainer, much more complete. Let's say it's more of a toning machine than a cardio machine.
With this Circle Glise, the upper limbs are not left out, because in addition to providing a workout for the lower limbs, the entire upper body is involved with the floor exercises. You will especially feel your shoulders and arms thanks to movements such as the double rotation.
On the negative side, and although we can feel the muscles working, especially in the buttocks muscles, we note that the tension on the rubber bands seemed too low. Indeed, the glide is a little too easy, and the impact felt on the buttocks, the legs is not what one could have hoped for.
This product is therefore suitable for beginners and people taking a physical activity but not for people who are used to more difficult workouts and exercises. Another downside, for tall women (over 1.70) or those with very long legs, the rail is not wide enough, which does not allow a significant stretch of the leg. This device is therefore not suitable for all body types.
n Robustness / function
The machine itself works well (note that we have only been using it for a few months). The handlebars and grips of our model are stable and although the vertical plinth on which the grips rest seems quite fragile, we didn't have to worry about possible falls with this machine, which got us a bit concerned afterwards. have read some reviews. Be careful with the products you buy, however, because even if they look alike, the quality can vary greatly from one brand to another. So often Internet users complain that the device received is not the same as the one shown in the video, and often it is for a robust model. The product is touted as being "quiet" and although we agree to some extent, there is a slight skidding noise as the Circle Glide brackets move along the rail. But overall it's not very disturbing. On the internet, users also complain about squeaking and report that rubber bands look like they're starting to tear. Others mention that the handles are unstable and wobble with each use, or that it is impossible to remove and swap the various resistance bands. Regarding the durability of the product, we do not have enough perspective to give us a definitive opinion and we can only trust the rather mixed opinions of Internet users.
n Comparison with the Care Leg Trainer
Similar to the Care Leg Trainer (Master Leg) released a few years ago, this machine is in our opinion better built and the action is much more controlled and smooth, which also makes it a more fun device to use.
