The Ultrasport 200b has, as we said above, without having undergone a major overhaul, benefited from some relevant improvements compared to the previous version. We for example really liked the refresh concerning the design of this bike with the look rather nice and in tune with the times. Easy to use and compact, its design makes a difference in user comfort, and its smooth, quiet operation is perfect for watching TV while you exercise.
Use
This bike is easy to use. Its clean but complete dashboard since it is sufficient to obtain an effective workout, reinforces this impression of simplicity.
On the LCD screen, the number of calories you have burned, your speed, your heartbeats are displayed in real time. heart rate, distance traveled and training time. While the accuracy of these measurements is not infallible, they are still useful as a guide. (useful information even if some measurements are not very reliable such as the calories burned for example or the pulse indicator which does not give exact values).
Its interface is easy to use since a single button allows you to scroll through the information or to fix on a parameter. The display is however limited to one data at a time: we would have liked to be able, for example, to simultaneously display the pulse and the effort measurement.
Regarding comfort, the bike is also well thought out. The seat is comfortable and the backrest, the special feature of this 200b model, is useful. It provides support, back support and rest while pedaling and even for relatively tall people it remains comfortable. We can however regret that this backrest is not adjustable. It is therefore really a plus especially for those with back pain but if it is not essential for you, we recommend the
Ultrasport 150 , the same model without backrest and therefore less expensive. The saddle adjustment has a stroke of 10 cm. So if you are tall, the saddle height is unsuitable, you will have difficulty pedaling smoothly, your knees will rise above your pelvis in the high pedal position and the legs will not fully stretch out in the low position.
So if you are less than 1m60 or taller than 1m80, this bike may not be for you. Although the new F-Bike has an attractive design and is compact compared to other bikes (36 x 45 x 142 cm), when folded up it can feel quite heavy, which is necessary to maintain good stability when of practice. Its weight of less than 20 kg, therefore facilitates its transport while ensuring good stability during use. We can regret that the maximum user weight supported by this bike is, like its predecessor, only 100 kg (sufficient for a woman of strong build, but not for a man of strong build of more than 1.80m). You might think that this is a compromise that the designers have made to reduce the bulk and overall weight and therefore facilitate transport and storage of the bike.
Resistance
The Ultrasport 200b is intended for a beginner audience so in terms of resistance, and although it provides a noticeable change with its 8 adjustable levels, it is not sufficient for an intermediate or advanced rider.
This bike is capable of producing a smooth running and a smooth ride, but with a flexible use. The flywheel weighs only 1.5 kg and it will not be suitable for powerful users (the weight of the flywheel directly impacts the fluidity of pedaling and the more powerful you are, the more jerky your pedaling will be). A heavier flywheel is needed to produce a smooth ride in such cases. This weight is therefore suitable for beginners, performing sessions with low to moderate intensities, but for all other users we recommend magnetic resistance bikes with flywheels of at least 8 kg.
< br /> The resistance is therefore not very important, but it is what you would expect from an entry-level bike with a 1.5 kg flywheel intended for beginners.
Efficiency
As we know, regular training with a bike will strengthen your cardiovascular system, increase your breathing capacity and allow you to burn calories. . Although this Ultrasport bike is not designed for high intensity training, it will still allow you to build your endurance every day and keep you in good health. Only downside, the training program that is provided is not very clear.
Folding & amp; Dimensions / Installation & amp; Storage
We really liked the design and the curved frame makes it really compact, perfect for saving space. The frame in the shape of & quot; S & quot; as opposed to type & quot; X & quot; allows the bike to fold up completely on itself and therefore an interesting space saving.
Once you have finished your training session, you just need to remove the safety pin, fold it , replace the pin and you're done. The Ultrasport 200b therefore takes up little space, is easy to fold up and store, although as we have seen previously a bit heavy to transport.
Reliability / Durability
The bikes of the Ultrasport brand are generally of good quality. But don't expect flawless design, these are entry-level bikes. The device has a 2 year warranty and although we have not been able to test it during this time, we believe it can survive. We are less sure of its longer term longevity.
Problems and bugs can be encountered with the electronic meter, which, at times panics and returns to zero (or remains desperately stuck at zero). And if you want to change the counter, it is often necessary to return the whole (impossible to change the counter alone). The computer is, in our opinion, not up to par, which is a shame compared to the quality of the bike.
