The Abmat is a versatile piece of equipment that is placed under the lower back to provide lumbar support during abdominal exercises. The Abmat is very strong since it is made from high quality, durable materials. Its water-repellent surface does not absorb perspiration.
The Abmat is a supportive “mattress” that has been specially designed for Crossfit training. However, we see today that its use goes beyond the simple framework of Crossfit and that this accessory has become more democratic.
“For those of you unfamiliar with the AbMat, it is a versatile piece of equipment that is placed under the lower back to provide lumbar support during abdominal exercises. Using the AbMat for support the lumbar spine is effective for several reasons:
- The AbMat gives the lumbar spine something to push against so that the abdominals can flex. Without the AbMat the lumbar spine has nothing to lean on and your hip flexors take over.
- The AbMat puts the abdominals in full extension increasing range of motion and core isolation.
- The AbMat stabilizes the core. pelvis so that the abdominals can fully contract (AbMat allows full contraction of the abdominals by stabilizing the pelvis)
Basically, the AbMat helps provide additional support and range of motion when you do crunches (movements basic abs) and sit ups (sit down and get up). The design of the Ab Mat gives you more amplitude than if you were doing a movement without, so you will be able to go a little further and thus put more strain on your muscles while being well supported.
The Abmat is made from high quality, durable materials and is made in such a way that it does not absorb your sweat. Unless you are using the product under out-of-use conditions, you shouldn't have to worry about tearing or breaking the Ab mat. It is very solid. You just have to place the AbMat under the lower back and perform the desired movement: crunch, sit ups, pedal movement, sheathing etc.
The Abmat is therefore a good addition in terms of fitness equipment, although it is not essential. Certainly, if you use it on a regular basis, it will help you keep good posture and achieve a good abdominal belt by diversifying the exercises; plank, sit ups, crunches, pedal movement, etc. Like most fitness accessories, the Abmat is a bit pricey for what it actually offers. That being said, if you do sit-ups often and find it difficult to complete full movements or experience pain, this pad may be a worthy purchase. "
