This device, although intended for all types of users, requires good body management and coordination to control movement.
Assembly
First observation, the package is very poorly packaged, many parts are scratched, with shocks. Really a shame, because a few decimeters of cardboard and bubble plastic would have avoided this. A poorly thought-out manufacturing economy which costs us points.
The assembly is quite tedious (allow 1h30). Even if it does not present any particular difficulties, the plan is not well detailed and there are a lot of screws and bolts to assemble.
Some parts on the technical sheet are already pre-assembled on the plan so that in fact everything is in pieces, the description of the parts does not always correspond, the adjustment of the holes sometimes poorly centered (a little bit of a file and the problem is resolved). In short, a lot of time wasted for nothing ... wondering if the product has been assembled and tested in the factory ...
Make sure you have all the bolts, nuts and parts before starting the assembly. And forget about the flat keys delivered in the package, because after 2/3 locks they are out of order. The brake hardware deserves to be tightened like 8mm bolts.
Once the assembly is finished, we realize that the device takes up a lot of space. In addition, on the site it is a foldable table, when in reality it is not at all. However, it is relatively easy to transport without disassembly.
Use / Comfort
The use of the device is relatively simple. But before you hang on and swing on the device, adjusting the table to your height is essential. It varies depending on your center of gravity and needs to be fine-tuned regardless of the markings.
The only problem is that there is no adjustment of the sensitivity of the table. It will therefore be necessary to be satisfied with the adjustment of the depth to try to control the speed of rotation.
In use, the first impressions are mixed.
The big negative point of this table is that it is unbalanced, I tried many different positions, it's either you are too high and you have trouble returning to the normal position or you are too low and there you have to force yourself to be able to return. Since the board is difficult to adjust, the movement lacks flexibility and the rocking is very uncertain.
When you finally manage to overturn, it is difficult to get back up and you may even need to help. Same thing in the opposite direction: when you go up, it becomes difficult to descend without being pushed.
Another negative point, when you remove the angle control bar (not recommended), there is no stopper to prevent the board from tipping completely.
Be careful so if you remove this orange bar located at the back. This allows you to block during the descent and return to the initial position without too much problem. If you remove it to do a full inversion, you may find yourself completely unable to return to the starting position, even with the help of the arms of the table.
A well-balanced table would allow you to return easily in the initial position without any particular effort, which this table does not allow. We therefore draw the attention of users to the danger of using this product in total inversion without this stop bar. We do not recommend it, especially if you are alone. The inversion position is to be avoided or carried out if you are accompanied.
Another downside concerns the dimensions of the table a little short which means that the head protrudes slightly even when adjusting at max. Our tester is 1.75m tall and it's a bit tight, the head sticks out and is not supported.
The foot support works well but is not the most comfortable at level of the attachment of the feet.
Studies
Most tests indicate that inversion therapy causes stretching of the vertebrae (approximately 3 mm between lumbar vertebrae during inversion therapy).
For acute, subacute and chronic low back pain, study results indicate that traction has no demonstrated benefit. So while lumbar traction doesn't seem to hurt people with low back pain, it doesn't seem to help them much either.
However, even though scientific studies show the effect of Inversion tables seem limited or even zero for low back pain, the fact remains that an often positive effect is observed by many users. And even if they do not completely eliminate the pain, they can partly relieve it, which is not negligible when the pain is chronic.
Effectiveness
If we focus on the effectiveness of this Gorilla inversion table, we can say that it produces positive effects. Lower back pain subsides in just a few days, flexibility gains and a feeling of relief are also seen. In other words, it is effective for the back. If you often have back pain (for example after long hours of DIY), between 3 and 4 minutes in the inverted position can therefore be beneficial.
In addition, this equipment can be used in parallel with consultations at the osteopath. We remind you that before any use of this type of system, it is important to seek medical advice.
Quality / Strength
Average product that does not leave not a sense of robustness. The manufacture is coarse and the welds of the frame are sometimes distorted.
The thinness of the support tube (where the feet are placed) connected to the backrest frame tends to twist when you put a foot on it. This same tube which is used to adjust the size does not slide well in the frame of the backrest support. In short, we are disappointed with the quality.
In addition, this inversion table, after 1 month of use is already showing signs of fatigue, our tester is however far from the 125 kg max announced. If the frame were to give way, it could be extremely dangerous.
Quality / price ratio
Let's say that for this price, compared to the competition, it remains okay if you have light use of it. But the overall quality and the lack of adjustments push us to direct you towards products which are admittedly a little more expensive, but of better quality such as the inversion table
