This waterproof MP3 player is designed for listening to music while swimming, rafting, kayaking, surfing, skiing, snowboarding or doing other activities that involve the presence of water.

According to the manufacturer, it can be used safely up to 3 meters underwater, for up to 9 hours of use. It has waterproof headphones, and ergonomic buttons for easy control while swimming. The product comes with playlist editing software for adding and sorting music files via USB connection.

DESCRIPTION

The Speedo brand, which offers a wide range of "nautical" products, is very well known in the swimming world, and this waterproof MP3 player is a recent addition to their collection. This product is touted as a way to play sports in water, snow, or on dry land while enjoying music. According to the manufacturer's website, the MP3 player comes bundled with software from Playlist Editing Software edition that "makes it easy to add and sort music files". We loaded the software on a laptop with a Windows 7 operating system, and our experience with the software was frustrating - instead of just dragging and dropping music files from iTunes into the Aquabeat Playlist Editor as shown in the instructions, we had to drag and drop them to the portable desktop and then download them to the device, one file at a time. After the music loaded, we could sort it - but only in one list. It is not possible to create multiple playlists.
